Dennis Elbers graduated from the academy for art and design AKV|St.Joost (Breda, NL) in 2003. A career as a professional artist followed. Almost simultaneously curatorial aspirations came up by setting up the KOP foundation. This resulted in Elbers' present occupation as a freelance curator, consultant, publicist, agent and producer.

Elbers' career as an artist evolved succesfully. Starting out as a painter, his work soon evolved into installations. The large scale and public anticipation in these works was appealing. These works could also function autonomous as well as on a commissioned basis. Each installation was site-specific and reacted to it's enviromental context. Not only scale, public and context formed a challenge, also the productional aspect was covered by Elbers.

The KOP foundation (artist space) was necessary because there was no place in Breda where young artist could exhibit their work and discuss artistic opinions. In a rapid pace KOP evolved. Resulting in an exhibition space, studios, projects, publications, great media attention and rsing attendancy. KOP took up more and more of Elbers' time. Seting up projects and working together with many artists and designers slowly became Elbers' daily practice. It became his favorite form of art, his new kind of work. Bigger and better than installations. These projects made it possible to work together with many talented artists and designers for all over the world. Specially selected for each project. Resulting in various projects.

Elbers transformed his studio into an officespace in October 2006. Since then he is working as a freelance curator, consultant, publicist, agent and producer. As a curator he is specialized in installations and performance art, but Elbers often works with (graphic) design and sculpture in relation to fine art in multidisciplinairy exhibitons. In most projects he combines local industrial context and international artistic developments. This results in projects (e.g. exhibitons, publications, festivals, websites) with great eye for artistic quality, clear communication through good graphic design, detail in production and good communication with the audience.
